MILAN FASHION WEEK: RED CARPET CELEBRATING THIRTY YEARS OF THE BOUTIQUES WHICH MADE VIA DELLA SPIGA AN ICONIC REFERECNCE IN THE LUXURY WORLD

It has been quite exciting  to go back home during fashion week and see how deeply my beloved “quadrilatero” was committed to celebrate  Via della Spiga boutiques’ 30thanniversary. All Italian major brands set up special windows with a classy hint to the very number, or displayed retrospective pieces with old photographs.  The street has been smartly draped in red velvet and the whole story from 1983 to 2013 is told through vintage and new imagery all along the way from Corso Venezia to Via Manzoni. Sepia flashbacks panels are skillfully  opposed to the new trendy monitors : don’t forget it is still fashion week and madness reigns! Queues outside  the stores, all milanese restaurants are flooding in all possible ethnos, beautiful models running from shows to presentations, press personalities over the edge rush in the streets to make sure they don’t miss any fashion spotlight.
