Walking around the Red Square on a beautiful Saturday morning I enter by curiosity this beautiful Church. Iconic ladies with porcelain skin and fleshy lips not needing any gloss to look real, all sort of ages, queue to buy a mustard thin candle to participate the celebration.It takes for ever as here they write the receipt by hand! Everybody must have one and keep it lighted up for the whole celebration. They all stick together standing, as the Chruch is unbelievably packed.The function is very solemn, I felt I was in the 19th Century. Immediately captured by the magic atmosphere I decide to stay.The white and navy Hermès scarf I was wearing as a belt, was needed to cover my hair instead . I felt they were all looking at me as i looked so different, I was definitively tagged as "a foreigner" with my skinny washed jeans by Seven, my ankle Hugs, the indispensable cashmere and fur twin-set by Vicedomini and a classic matelassé Channel jumbo bag . All rigorously navy blue, my favorite color this month. I was totally captured, almost under spell when I saw this lady behind me...the most beautiful and deep blue eyes I've ever encountered in my whole life.Once, during a photographic workshop, Steve Mc Curry told me how the eyes of the Afghan girl became an obsession for him and how long he had to look for her through the years to capture that depth again...I prayed and assisted the function for over 2 hours and my hands and lips have been anointed three times for purification. It felt good. I placed the candle I lighted for my children and family before the prayers started in front of an unforgettable golden icon representing The Holy Trinity.All the skirting in the Church was crafted with high knowledge in color balance and shapes, golden arches and velvet embroidered banners ornate every single corner: a truly unforgettable experience for eyes and soul!
