LADY D JEWELS BY CHOPARD

With the most exquisite hospitality, and the ultramodern set up on the top floor of her Geneva store, Caroline Scheufele, superchic in her sage satin blouse and encrusted lace leggings highlighted by a G-Color diamonds sautoir, celebrated a tribute to Diana through impressive designs of necklaces and earrings.
The collection in honor of the Princess of Wales counts a number of pearls chokers with sapphires or three-lined cushion shaped diamonds. Everybody will remember Lady D's love for blue : all shades of blue for all kind of official outfits, and royal blue for most of her jewelry parures and daily gems. From the unforgettable engagement ring, a sapphire solitaire set with diamonds we all have fallen for, to the thick pearl chocker she wore with the Edelstein black velvet gown dancing with Travolta at the White House, to the blue earring drops and pendants she would mix and match in different combinations with classic Ralph Lauren blazers or jeans&Tod's, BLUE is definitively her color. She has been inspiring millions of fans, either through simple beige cotton trousers styled with simple white shirts and worn during her humanitarian missions, or through a very iconic choice of plain colors simple silk evening dresses. Less is more, the simplest the shape, the most elegant she looked. Just because either you have it - class and elegance- either you don't. The French call it allure. No doubt when she walked into any ballroom and restaurant, or participated any procession and parade, with or without the Royal Family, the crowd was paralyzed, respectful and in total admiration at once. An other story when we think she has been capable to break protocols and exploit the press at her own advantage, or to use her weaknesses or , let's say, eating disorders and lack of love to gain the crowds' pity. No wonder why she has conquered the sympathy of the whole world playing the broken hearted wife in front of the world, giving an interview on BBC she should have never given. I must say I've always liked her at any stage, and I felt her will to "democratize" her role in the Royal Family showing us she WAS (or desperately needed to be) a woman like us, a mother like us and somebody with a great heart and a deep attention to the others, was just her way to get closer to everyone. Shame this template does not fit at all an aristocratic frame: her glow will always be remembered and admired, her compassion will be missed, but tears still come to my eyes when I think she has gone when bitterness was getting too strong and her last actions, trips and declarations quite controversial.
To me she remains the Princess of Hearts, the mother of two wonderful boys and a myth who will never die. Elton John expresses this concept with very simple words : Candle in the wind remains one of the fastest single ever sold out in the UK's music history, the melody corresponds so much to the Princess' profile. Just a few lines to ask myself who thought this poor Naomi Watts could ever been taken into consideration to play the role of the most famous woman on earth...judgements on the fact she could be too old and wrinkled, or not attractive enough aside, she has not been able to catch any of Diana's characteristics, not even one.
Simplicity has fallen into cheap, elegance has turned into the ordinary, beauty into mediocrity, style into averageness and charisma into idiocy and levity. How sad. It was not about finding someone who could have barely looked like Her, but who could have emphasized her strengths and values through deep interpretation which many other actresses could have performed.  Diana's life has always been known to be swinging between high and lows- very high and very low- and that is the essence of her deep soul. Definitively not what this new release has spread. Personally, I prefer to remember the black and white portraits of her with her kids, on the shots of Bazaar and Vogue's covers, impeccably taken by John Swannell, and rigorously in black and white to immortalize an icon that will always be remembered through the decades.

VERY VICTORIA

It has become very common for models or actresses to successfully launch their own fashion lines or hit collections. This turn I was delighted to see how delicately Victoria Silvstedt debuted with her fabulous lingerie  VERY in Geneva, performing an amazing product presentation and autographs signature at Manor. It is not only about her beauty or kindness, it is about how smart the fit is, or the fabrics choice has captured the crowd's attention. I was given a very chic grey satin set , encrusted with black lace and bowed with a very feminine craft: picture perfect fitting and sexy look, yet being quite discrete.  Each item's packaging, with Victoria's black and white portrait and a very essential logo, has caught my attention, just like the beautiful panels on the department store's floor, with their desaturated colors making her beauty look quite reserved and so fresh.

SEPHORA: GET A PERFECT MAKE OVER IN TWO HOURS

The Champs Elysées store is just to dye for. As soon as it opens at ten am, you'd better be in a very good mood as you don't know how concentrate your life is gonna be in the next hundred minutes!
As soon as you walk in, all clerks and sales assistants stand in two lines on the floor sides and clap their hands, dancing at the entrance on joyful, rather high volume pop disco-music. In case you are not very awake yet, there you go!
First step: get your eyebrows waxed and "tweezered" at Benefit, the brow specialists from San francisco. You can have your eyebrows' shape personalized or tinted and, if you want to indulge yourself with unthinkable products, you can get the best advice on the must haves for your forehead make up! They even have a special pantone to perfectly match your skin color and make it all look natural. Very professional, girls are very well trained.
Second step: get your nails done at the OPI gel bar. I don't know how but there it takes less than half hour to be done, girls are not only goodlooking, but also fast, smiling and kind...Pick your color and go!
Third step: depending on the mood of the day you can try any of the talented make-up artists along the way. It is fun to test brands you don't know. For instance this time I had a wonderful eye make up dome with Sephora products. Unlimited eyeshadow powders, wonderful gloss palettes and practical pocket foundations stand opposite the dream counter to me: the eye pencils bar.  I lost sight through those many sizes, thicknesses, colors, pastes and new releases. I think I got all rainbow hues...For sure from now no outfit without matching eye pencil and mascara...
Fourth and last step: Presents. At the very end of the store, like it was a private room, you find the Gift Factory. Basically it is impossible not to find what you need, and you can chose the wrap color according to your purchase! Amazing.

FENDI FOR WOMANITY

Glamorous and Excellence in luxury party organization Britta Koenig has succeeded again in putting together the "crème de la crème" swiss beauties for a delightful charity lunch, hosted by Fendi in aid to Afghan women. The will of gathering such a special female crowd is not a coincidence: Antonella Notari's  speech describing the foundation's goals has created  a very interesting and powerful intensity in the room before lunch. The will to support girls schooling and empowering women's skills in general, undoubtedly sprang very quickly, yet discretely.  What could make you feel more fulfilled than knowing you have donated a piece of happiness to a girl like you, with a simple gesture? (while having fun, eating divinely and watching stunning fashion outfits and catching up at the same with friends?!).
The beautiful Fendi fall Winter Collection, cat walked by statuesque models and displayed on elegant wooden mannequins, has "Peekabooed" every single guest. Between raspberry cocktails and champagne bubbles, fresh, colorful, wearable and original, ahead of times and trends and crafted with perfection, Fendi Fur Collection remains a reference for any designer.

PALAIS ROYAL : RAINY DESTINY

Can somebody explain WHY when my day gravitates around Palais Royal it systematically pours down with rain and I am NEVER properly dressed, freezing while walking and looking a mess when I get to the meetings?!!!
Last year, which was memorable,we spent 2 hours with a team of twelve to try and get a nice portrait of a famous top model....who by the time we finished was sick with fever and even lost her plane back home because  of traffic congestion. This time, I went to the wrong address and as soon as I was notified with the correct one, the angels decided to cry all their tears down and I literally arrived at destination with my velvet coat soaked in water , my feet completely wet thanks to the beautiful sandals I chose in the morning when it was twenty-five degrees: my ex-blow dried hair had to be poked into an unglamorous cap...
In any case the outfit would have been perfect for a very important corporate meeting: lasered leather black dress, croco jacquard coat in navy and black plus delicate sandals.....!
